Councillor Angela O'Leary Councillor – West Ward

Councillor Angela O’Leary is Hamilton City’s longest-serving councillor, with 18 years of continuous service since first being elected in 2007. 

Throughout her tenure, Councillor O’Leary has held a range of leadership roles including Deputy Mayor, Creative Ambassador, and Chair of the Infrastructure and Transport Committee. Councillor O’Leary is Chair of the Executive Committee for Local Government New Zealand (LGNZ) Zone Two and Chair of the Chief Executive Review Committee for the 2025–2028 triennium. Her professional background is in the hospitality and events industry, bringing a strong understanding of service, logistics, and community engagement to her work. 

Councillor O’Leary will show up wherever the work needs to be done to support Hamilton’s progress.
