About Councillor Casey-Cox

Councillor Anna Casey-Cox was re-elected to Hamilton City Council in the 2025 local elections, entering her second term as a city councillor. 


Councillor
 Casey-Cox has previously served as Deputy Chair of the Community and Natural Environment Committee and is 
Chair of the Community Grants Subcommittee and Deputy Chair of the Community Committee for the 2025–2028 triennium. Her background spans public health, governance, community advocacy, and research on poverty and inequality, alongside extensive work in flaxroots initiatives such as establishing community gardens, coordinating environmental projects, and advocating for a more connected city. 


She holds a PhD in 
Organisational Studies from the University of Waikato and is deeply committed to fostering a vibrant, healthy, and inclusive Hamilton.
