Programme Transport Choices
Hamilton City Council is installing a signalised pedestrian crossing on Heaphy Terrace between the Jamia Mosque and Stanley Street. This will make it easier for pedestrians and people using active modes of transport (biking, skateboarding, scootering etc) to access Claudelands Park, Claudelands Event Centre, Hamilton Jaima Mosque and day care centre, the Magical Bridge Playground and so on.
This will provide a safer way to get across the road for pedestrians and cyclists. The project is subsidised by the Transport Choices – Climate Emergency Response Fund and is required to be completed by 30 June 2025. This project supports our transport strategy vision where everyone can connect to people and places in safe, accessible and smart ways.
